Raising the Front Seat on a Jeep Wrangler

I raised the driver's side front seat about 1" on my 2002  and 2006 Jeep Wrangler. The two front seat bolts and the left rear seat bolt are all the same diameter and thread size. The right rear bolt is a larger diameter bolt.

  1. Remove the factory bolts and take them to a good hardware store to match up the threads
  2. Purchase bolts that are an inch or two longer than the originals
  3. Purchase spacer nuts that are slightly larger than the bolt itself. The spacer nuts just slide up on to the bolt. They do not thread onto the bolt, but act as spacers only
  4. Use a flat washer and spring type lock washer on the head of each bolt.
